Adaption
Following on from “Location, Location, Location” is “Adaption, Adaption, Adaption”.
Lean to adapt your practice of Yoga to suit the current location and surface. If you remain open to learning…………there is always something to learn.
A recent lesson came from a shoreline practice. The surface was unstable course coral sand the practice line ever changing with the ebb and flow of sea meeting sand. In a wide stance standing pose, it was necessary to press down into the feet in order to maintain a stable stance. The alternative of pressing out to the edges of the feet (rather than down) weakened the stance by allowing it to widen (feet sinking deeper into the sand)
As interesting as it was at the time; it continued to be interesting the following day as my leg muscles could feel the change of use.
If you remain open to learning…………there is always something to learn.
Yoga is as much about adaptability as flexibility.
