Yoga for Health

Reuniting Body, Breath & Mind

Everything is ‘e’

Seems everything is ‘e’ these days………e-cars, e-bikes, e-scooters …….

Thankfully, Yoga has remained manual.

However, there are several places for ‘e’ in yoga.

My favouries are Enthusiasm, Energy and Effort; and I try and apply these to each and every practice and class.

The underlying ‘e’ that I encourage (oh, there’s another ‘e’ for encourage) is Ease.

Be at ease with yourself, with your breath and your body in each pose. Ease doesn’t mean easy. Ease is freedom from discomfort – it says so in Collins Concise dictionary – how yogic is that description!. Ease will give some clarity to your mind space too.

Easy is when you don’t make an effort, and that was one of the first three ‘e’ words.

My last ‘e’ word on the subject is Enough. Know when enough is enough, when less is more, when to back off. The guideline of 70% effort keeps you safe in your practice and allows you to Enjoy it.
