Tracks, Paths and Detours
If you have managed to keep a fairly clear track for your mind, your New Year resolutions will be following their intended path.
But the thing about tracks and paths is the variables
Potholes
Detours
Lookouts
Lay bys
Round abouts
and they are all worthy of consideration. Yes some of our goals hit a rut, but that is time and space for consolidation or redirection.
Potholes slow you down sometimes grind you to a halt. If you have to dig, try not to dig deeper, be proactive and dig yourself out.
Detours are great if you like options not necessarily as distraction but to alter your course ever so slightly. Feel the wind in your sails and follow your heart.
Lookouts are marvellous and so perfectly named. Look how far you’ve come, look what lays ahead, take a moment to enjoy where you are – grateful rather than discouraged.
Lay bys remind us to take the time to rest, reflect and reconfigure knowing you have all the time you need.
Roundabouts. We all have those times when we feel we are going around in circles. Cheer up – see the exits as options, a chance to change direction. If you happen to take the wrong one you don’t have to keep going. Give yourself permission to turn around. Go back to the roundabout and make a new decision, take another exit.
Our lives aren’t tracked by GPS. They are our own journey; a package deal requiring intellect, intuition, acceptance, letting go, trust, bravery and hard graft. Pack Well and remember to send an abundance of post cards from gratitude.
If all else fails, go back to the beginning, start again, mark time if necessary then put your best foot forward and keep going in that direction. Believe in yourself.
