Reuniting Body, Breath & Mind

Inner Stillness

When you put a question to a class, answers are always many and varied, expected and unexpected.

Answers come from the heart, the head or the feeling body; depending on what energy the person is tuned to at the time of answering.

This weeks question was to interperet ‘Inner Stillness’

Discussion as to whether the physical body had to be comfortable and still, or was it Monkey mind that had to be stilled. Did focusing on stilling the body help to calm and still Monkey mind? Was it to do with slowing down the breath. Is there an actual place inside where you feel the stillness, or is it an overall feeling – hard to describe.

The most amazing answer from a very committed yogi and meditation practitioner (thank you Marion) was one word ……. “parking”

Take that word and roll it around for a while – yes parking.

Imagine, your own personal parking space deep inside you, always available – reserved.

You can slot into it whenever you need to, and turn off your ever revving engine.

Park up for as long as you need to.

And there you have it …..parking in your inner stillness

This weeks discussion was inspired by a quote from Eckhart Tolle “Stillness Speaks”. (p3)

“When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world.
